Solidarity

Solidarity describes our duty to commit ourselves to the common good by taking action and promoting justice for all. In Magnifica Humanitas, Pope Leo XIV defines it as "the concrete recognition that the future of each individual is connected to the future of all," because "no one is saved alone." Solidarity arises when we choose to not remain indifferent about our neighbor, but instead to see them as a living, walking image of God himself. Just as Jesus loved everyone—even when they persecuted him—so we too are called to love and serve all those around us.

"Whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be a slave of all. For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve."
